To audition, there are three steps:

1. REGISTER
2. SCHEDULE
3. PREPARE

1. Please click the link below to REGISTER. This is where you’ll provide actor info, a photo/headshot, a resume/performance experience, casting preferences, etc. Please register as early as possible, so KIDSTAGE can determine the number of students planning to audition for each program.

2. Next, please SCHEDULE your audition appointment. Choose the date and time that works best for you! PLEASE MAKE SURE TO REGISTER BEFORE SCHEDULING YOUR AUDITION.

To SCHEDULE your audition, click the corresponding link in the registration form.

• After registration and scheduling are complete, please PREPARE the following materials for your audition:
  • One audition monologue (one minute or less in length).
  • One audition song (60-90 seconds of music, about 16-32 bars). The song can either be from musical theater or popular music. Please select something that best shows off your voice and range.
  o Auditions are performed with an in person Piano Accompanist. You will need to bring piano-vocal sheet music for the Accompanist, preferably in a binder or folder for easy playing.

KIDSTAGE Callbacks and Casting Page

This production program is designed for new and younger aspiring theatre artists. Led by a team of professionals who value mentoring and teaching, this program is the most pedagogically oriented production that KIDSTAGE offers and often takes place during spring semester of the school year. This program focuses on the performer and the development of their artistic process as they learn to create and collaborate with Directors, Music Directors, Choreographers, and Designers, as well as each other. Students who participate begin to learn the fundamentals of character development, studying choreography, staging, and vocal technique. They also experience a full production process from rehearsals, technical and dress rehearsals, to performances.

Village Theatre believes that experiential learning in theater arts is a powerful tool for building essential life and career skills including critical thinking, concentration, collaboration, discipline, communication and creativity. We strive to ensure that all young people, regardless of financial circumstances, can participate in our programs.
