Summer Camps 2022 FAQ
Important: Please have your online Health and Vaccination Attestation Form submitted prior to the first day of class.
All students 5 and older are required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination OR negative COVID-19 test results on Day 1 and 3 of camp week. Masks that cover the nose and mouth are required for all participants.
- KIDSTAGE Productions have a different vaccination requirement. More info on all KIDSTAGE COVID-19 policies here: https://villagetheatre.org/kidstage-covid19/
- All Village Theatre and KIDSTAGE Staff, including instructors, have been required to be fully vaccinated since September 15, 2021.
No: unvaccinated students will need to show negative COVID-19 test results on Day 1 and 3 of camp week. (For a 5-day camp, on Monday and Wednesday; for a 4-day camp, on Tuesday and Thursday.) While vaccination is encouraged for those who are eligible, it is not required to participate in KIDSTAGE camps.
In order for your student to be on site, we require the following:
- A COVID-19 Health Attestation Form. This form is valid for all Summer 2022 programs, and only needs to be completed ONCE per student, prior to the first camp day.
- Vaccination OR negative COVID-19 test results on Day 1 and 3 of camp week.
- Student must wear a mask and maintain social distancing.
- A Hold Harmless Form.
- If you registered online, you already completed the Hold Harmless as part of the online registration process.
- If you did not register online, and have not done so already, please submit this form before arriving on site. before arriving on site.
Yes: masks are required to be worn by ALL while on site and in our buildings, including students, staff, and any families dropping-off/picking-up students. It is important that students wear masks properly (fully covering nose and mouth and fitting snugly against sides of face), as many camp activities are dependent on this policy.
*For any outdoor activities (like outdoor games, snack breaks, or Issaquah Cougar Mountain Zoo camps), masks are optional.
Social distancing will be practiced by ALL while on site. Camp capacities are based on 6-foot social distancing in each class space, and we will encourage social distancing whenever possible, including outdoors. Movement or dance that does not involve a projected voice may use 3-foot social distancing.
Upon arriving at your camp location, we ask that an adult accompany their student to the check-in area. Please have all members of your party wear masks for check-in each day. We ask families to confirm each day at check-in that the student does not have any symptoms of COVID-19. Students will be given a “student supply bag” with a nametag and materials for the day, then will be directed by their instructor to the classroom space. Parents/guardians and siblings may NOT enter the building or classroom spaces.
We ask that a parent/guardian wait outdoors at the place of morning check-in until their student is released. Students will return their “supply bag” (including nametag and materials) to KIDSTAGE staff at the end of each camp day.
Please e-mail us at email@example.com for absences or late arrivals. We are not attending to the phones in the office during the camp day, and e-mail is the best way to let us know. It is important that students try to attend camp each day. There will be no makeup sessions for absences.
As agreed in the Health Attestation, please do not send your student to camp if they are sick, running a fever, or have any other COVID-19 symptoms.
On the last day of camp, KIDSTAGE will record a video of the camp’s final sharing/demonstration and will provide the recording electronically to families. Unfortunately, we will NOT* be having a live, final performance with family audience members in our facilities.
*Exception: our two-week Production Camps will have the opportunity to perform live for a limited capacity, in-person, family audience on their final camp day. Details will be shared with those specific families closer to camp.
Yes: half-day camps (3 hours) will have a 15-minute snack break. All-day camps (6 hours) will have a 30-minute lunch break and two 15-minute snack breaks (morning and afternoon). Camp instructors will allow for multiple short water/bathroom breaks throughout the day. KIDSTAGE will provide supervision for all snack and lunch breaks. During the time that masks cannot be worn when students are eating or drinking, social distancing will be practiced. Snack/lunch breaks will happen outside whenever possible (weather permitting), or in a space with fresh air.
No. Students must bring their own snack/lunch and a filled water bottle labeled with student name. KIDSTAGE is a NUT-FREE ZONE. Please, DO NOT bring tree nuts or peanuts. Thank you!
Campers should wear a well-fitted mask, comfortable clothing for movement, and closed-toe tennis shoes. Skirts/dresses should have shorts underneath. Please dress in layers as we will keep windows/doors open for fresh airflow as much as possible. For outdoor camp locations and outdoor breaks, students should have sunscreen/sun protection.
Let us know before camps start! E-mail firstname.lastname@example.org. We can properly prepare our instructors and space, if we are given adequate notice. We will require pre-arranged notice to KIDSTAGE staff to excuse on-site mask-wearing. We will do our absolute best to accommodate all access needs. We want to be sure your student feels comfortable, welcome, and safe in our space!
Camps are limited to 16 students or fewer, depending on the space. There will be 1-2 instructors and 1-2 KIDSTAGE staff members per location.
Please note that our “classroom” spaces may be used by two groups of campers in the same day, but will be adequately sanitized and have full air exchange before the second group comes in. Other Village Theatre and KIDSTAGE personnel may be present in the buildings where camps take place, however, they will not be in the camp spaces.
Students may use the restroom two-at-a-time during camp. (We strongly encourage students to use the restroom before camp starts!) Buildings, including restrooms, will NOT be open to families/visitors. There may be more than one camp using the same bathroom facilities, even though their camp is in a separate space.
Camps at the Cougar Mountain Zoo will be using public restrooms as part of the Zoo facility. KIDSTAGE expects all students to be independent, self-sufficient bathroom users.
Check-in will be either at the Cope Gillette Theatre or the Everett Performing Arts Center, which are in the same complex, joined by the Wetmore Theater Plaza. There are load/unload zones around the buildings off Wetmore Ave. and California Ave. There is free, 90-minute parking all around our buildings, and on weekends, street parking in downtown Everett is FREE/untimed. Please allow ~15min. for drop-off/parking and check-in. Only students and staff are allowed in the buildings. End-of-class pick-up will happen at the same place as drop-off.
