“Make it work!” Take on theatre design and construction challenges each week as you take a peek behind the scenes. Learn about lighting design, set construction, costuming, and more. This crafty experience will introduce some principals of design and basic construction techniques and give you a space to let your creativity soar with fellow theatre makers!

Saturday Dance Program

Session: Fall Class Days: Saturdays, September 17 – May 20 Time: 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Venue: Francis J. Gaudette Theatre

Join us for one quarter or the entire year, based on the schedule that works for you and your family. In this new block-style schedule, you don’t have to worry about choosing the right class for your student, we do that for you! During our 2.5 hour Saturday Dance Program, students will be continually assessed and placed at the level that is correct for them. Students will have the opportunity to move around during the session to have all their dance needs met. In whichever unit we are working through, whether it is Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Ballet, or Contemporary, we will focus on acting through dance, specificity of movement, dancing with strength, technique, and style. Students will increase flexibility and improve core strength through exploration of movement, fundamental technique, turns, jumps, rhythm, flexibility, and coordination. Get a leg up on musical theatre dance vocabulary and a solid base for all your musical theatre dance goals.

This class is designed to help performers learn more about singing and storytelling through music. This session focuses on harmony, but may also include vocal technique, music theory, breath control, rhythm, melody, sight-reading, and acting through song. Students expand their vocal range, fine tune their ears, strengthen breathing, and learn new music, all in a small class. (This class does not take the place of individual voice lessons, which should be taken privately, year-round for serious singers.)
