This class focuses on sharpening tap technique and building skills that support your theatre journey, teaching basics in the beginning and each week building upon that foundation as the students move through the session. Tap 2: For those who love to tap and want to sharpen their technique and gain an edge in their skill set, this is the class for you! Journey behind the scenes alongside professional mentors! In our Technical Theatre Program (TTP), students will explore theatre design and build process for sets, props, costumes, lights, and sound — all through a hands-on, experiential approach. Students accepted into the TTP program during the school year will enroll in the TTP Mentorship class. Apply now at https://villagetheatre.org/production-programs/internships/technical-theatre-program-application/. TTP students develop a customized learning plan and are provided with 10 hours of strong and consistent mentorship by theatre professionals per school year production. Most students start as Entry Level Apprentices, but the exact placement of each individual will be determined through the application and interview process based on experience and ability. During the school year, TTP students are assigned to a show. The mentorship schedule is 10 total hours, generally on Saturdays within the rehearsal schedule. There is some schedule flexibility to help students(s) the most in preparation to be sucessful in their technical theatre responsbilities.

The focus for this class changes each semester depending on the interest of the students, and the technical elements in the Village Theatre show they will get to see. It may be taken several times to build skills before moving on to the next level. Repeat enrollment is encouraged to build skills to apply for the TTP (Technical Theatre Program) and work technical positions on KIDSTAGE productions.

Enhance your actor’s toolkit and feel confident on stage. Develop authentic interactions with scene partners and break a scene into acting beats. Journey behind the scenes alongside professional mentors! In our Technical Theatre Program (TTP), students will explore theatre design and build process for sets, props, costumes, lights, and sound — all through a hands-on, experiential approach. Students accepted into the TTP program during the school year will enroll in the TTP Mentorship class. Apply now at https://villagetheatre.org/production-programs/internships/technical-theatre-program-application/. TTP students develop a customized learning plan and are provided with 10 hours of strong and consistent mentorship by theatre professionals per school year production. Most students start as Entry Level Apprentices, but the exact placement of each individual will be determined through the application and interview process based on experience and ability. During the school year, TTP students are assigned to a show. The mentorship schedule is 10 total hours, generally on Saturdays within the rehearsal schedule. There is some schedule flexibility to help students(s) the most in preparation to be successful in their technical theatre responsibilities.

Get exclusive tours of the Village Theatre Tech Studios and workshops. Learn from professional designers, artists, and technical directors, and use your knowledge to create your own designs. The focus for this class changes each semester depending on the interest of the students, and the technical elements in the Village Theatre show they will get to see. It may be taken several times to build skills before moving on to the next level. Repeat enrollment is encouraged to build skills to apply for the TTP (Technical Theatre Program) and work technical positions on KIDSTAGE productions.
