Because great nights out shouldn’t be limited to the shows we produce ourselves. Village Theatre Presents lets us throw our doors open wider — bringing fresh energy and new kinds of performance to our buildings, welcoming audiences who may be meeting Village for the very first time; and giving our community more reasons, more often, to gather in a theatre and laugh until it hurts.

Village Theatre Presents events are single-ticket–only — no subscription required. Pick the night that sounds like the most fun and come as you are. 

Single tickets start at $27 online (limited inventory, includes $3 service charge) and $29 in-person/by phone (limited inventory, includes $5 service charge).

What is Village Theatre Presents? 

A new program through which Village Theatre hosts exciting performances we don’t produce ourselves — touring acts, regional favorites, comedy, cabaret, and more — for limited engagements on our stages. 

How is this different from Village’s regular season? 

Our Mainstage season features productions we create ourselves: we cast, direct, design, and build them in-house. VT Presents events are ones we host — complete works brought to us by visiting artists and companies for a limited run.  

What can I expect from these shows? 

Something different from a Village Mainstage production. VT Presents events are created by visiting artists and companies, so they’re generally more stripped-down — simpler staging, lighter design — with the focus squarely on the performers. Come for the talent, the laughs, and the night out rather than big-scale spectacle. 

Do I need to be a subscriber? Is it part of my season package? 

No. VT Presents events are single-ticket-only and are not included in a Mainstage season subscription. Anyone can buy a ticket to any VT Presents event. 

Are these shows family-friendly? 

It varies, so once tickets go on sale September 9, please check each show page before you bring the kids. The My Funny Valentine cabaret is broadly appealing. A Very Die Hard Christmas, Titanish and An Improvised Musical! are pitched at teens and up (expect some language and grown-up humor). Oy Vey in a Manger contains references even Santa would find inappropriate — and he’s seen some things. Bring your teens or your mother-in-law at your own risk. Individual show pages will note specific guidance. 

Where do these events happen? 

Most of the inaugural season takes place at the Everett Performing Arts Center. The My Funny Valentine cabaret plays at the Hunt Family Theatre (HFT) in Issaquah. An Improvised Musical! plays in either HFT or the Cope Gillette Theatre in Everett throughout the season. 

Why don’t you bring more of these to Issaquah? 

If we could, we would!  Because it is where we build and rehearse our shows and because our productions run longer in Issaquah, the Francis J. Gaudette Theatre already has a jam-packed calendar.  We simply cannot find a weekend, let alone a series of weeks, that isn’t already booked with performances, rehearsals, or scenic work. 

When do VT Presents events take place?

How do I get tickets? 

Tickets go on sale to Village Theatre donors and subscribers on Wednesday, August 26, and to the general public on Wednesday, September 9, right here at VillageTheatre.org or through the Village Theatre box office.
