Our Youth Education program, Village Theatre KIDSTAGE, is seeking educators for future class teaching positions. Applicants should have at least three years of teaching experience with youth. KIDSTAGE centers on musical theatre education, but we are open to applicants with various backgrounds in music, dance, and acting. Generally, these positions are once per week for 2–4 hours. In the summer, we offer week-long camps.
Singing Instructor/Music Director
An educator with experience teaching beginning to intermediate level singing technique, which may include basic music theory, solo and ensemble singing, and healthy technique for young/undeveloped voices. Experience as a vocal coach and/or music director, along with piano skills, is preferred.
An educator with experience teaching beginning-level acting technique, which may include improvisation, scene-work, monologues, character analysis, relationship, and status. For portions of our programming, experience as a professional actor and/or director preferred.
An educator with experience teaching beginning to advanced level dance styles, which may include jazz, ballet, modern, hip-hop, and tap. For portions of our programming, experience as a professional dancer/performer and/or choreographer preferred.
Our Youth Education program, Village Theatre KIDSTAGE, is seeking production staff members with professional theatrical experience for future opportunities. KIDSTAGE production programs provide professional-quality shows with youth ages 8–20. KIDSTAGE production staff members are sometimes also expected to act as mentors and supervisors to students interested in learning about behind-the-scenes opportunities.
