VILLAGE THEATRE GENERAL AUDITION SUBMISSIONS
THE 2023-2024 SEASON / AEA AND NON-UNION PERFORMERS
Village Theatre will be scheduling general audition appointments for actors, singers, and dancers, in their 2023-2024 Mainstage Season.
These auditions are for principal and ensemble actors, singers, and dancers who are at least 18 years or older.
Village Theatre’s 2023-2024 Season will be announced in late March.
Audition Dates and Locations:
Village Theatre will also be attending the TPS Auditions, you do not need to attend both auditions. Please review all the details below, we have designated days to audition for the play, the musicals, and open dance calls.
General Auditions for the PLAY:
In attendance: Adam Immerwahr (Artistic Director), Jes Spencer (Casting Director)
Wednesday March 8th from 9:30am – 5:30pm (lunch from 1-2pm)
Location: Taproot Theatre, Isaac Studio, 204 N 85th St Seattle, WA 98103
What to prepare:
Please bring a physical copy of your headshot and resume and prepare one short monologue of your choice.
General Auditions for the MUSICALS:
In attendance: Jes Spencer (Casting Director)
Thursday, March 9th from 9:30am – 5:30pm (lunch from 1-2pm)

Tuesday, March 28th: from 10am – 6pm (lunch from 1-2pm)

Thursday, March 30th: from 10am – 6pm (lunch from 1-2pm)

What to prepare:
Please bring a physical copy of your headshot and resume and please prepare two short song selections that demonstrate your vocal and storytelling abilities. The song selections should be no longer than one verse and one chorus each. A pianist will be provided, please bring sheet music in the proper key.
Open Dance Call for DANCERS:

What to prepare:
Please bring a physical copy of your headshot and resume and come prepared to dance. Please wear clothes that you can move in and dance shoes of your choice that allow for uncompromised movement, including turning.

You must be at least 18 years old (as of March 1st, 2023) to audition. If you do not meet this age requirement, we encourage you to check out our KIDSTAGE program!
Village Theatre Contract Information:
Village Theatre operates under a Special Agreement Contract (VTSpAg) with Actor’s Equity Association (AEA) and offers both Equity and Non-Equity contracts.
Our rates are included below and are consistent throughout the season and are non-negotiable. Not included below are the specialty rates for one-person plays which are negotiated per show.
- AEA – Lead Principal Role in a Musical: $1000 (These are such roles as Dolly, in Hello, Dolly!)
- AEA – Principal & Supporting Role in a Play or Musical: $900
- AEA – Chorus in a Musical: $839
- NON – Principal or Supporting Role in a Play or Musical: $850
- NON – Chorus in a Musical: $800
AEA – External Understudy Breakdown
- Fulltime in rehearsal: $839
- On call weeks: $450
NON – External Understudy Breakdown
- Fulltime in rehearsal: $800
- On call weeks: $375
All roles and ensemble tracks are understudied.
Village Theatre is located outside Seattle in Issaquah, WA. All productions rehearse in Issaquah, the first part of the run takes place in Issaquah, at the Francis J. Gaudette Theatre followed by a run in Everett, WA at the Everett Performing Arts Center.
