A Love Triangle for the Ages

CAMELOT THEN and NOW

THEN:

Camelot, written in 1960 by the My Fair Lady team of Lerner and Loewe, went on to play for three years on Broadway, inspiring the nickname for a whole presidency.

Led by famous Shakespearean actor Richard Burton, it created stars out of Julie Andrews (Mary Poppins, Maria Von Trapp in The Sound of Music) and Robert Goulet (Brigadoon).

And the soundtrack, which stayed number one on the Billboard list for six weeks, brought the glorious songs and ballads of Lerner and Loewe to American households across the country.

NOW:

Six decades later, we’re thrilled to introduce you to Village Theatre’s intimate new production, featuring our own legendary love triangle of Arthur, Guenevere and Lancelot.

Harter Clingman (Arthur) is a relatively new transplant to Seattle, but not to Village: he has taught our students in Village Theatre Institute! He’s recently been seen at The 5th Avenue Theatre in Something’s Afoot and traveled the country on the first Broadway North America Tour of Come From Away and Peter and the Starcatcher.

Jessica Skerritt (Guenevere) is a Village and Seattle theater favorite, having played Irene Malloy in Hello, Dolly!, Atropos in String, Lina Lamont in Singin’ in the Rain, and Ulla in The Producers; as well as appearances at The 5th Avenue Theatre as Grace in Annie, Elsa Schrader in The Sound of Music, and so many more. Don’t miss Skerritt’s rendition of the beautiful “I Loved You Once in Silence“ — find our rehearsal music video right here on the blog!

Adam James King (Lancelot) makes his Village Theatre debut in Camelot. King’s theater credits include Frid in A Little Night Music (Pasadena Playhouse), Emilio in On Your Feet (The Phoenix Theatre Company), and Usnavi in In the Heights (Park Playhouse). Don’t miss King’s take on the iconic ballad “If Ever I Would Leave You“ — find our rehearsal music video right here on the blog!

Come see this exciting new trio take on an iconic timeless story, on stage September 10 to November 10 at your Village Theatre. Don’t miss this enthralling (k)night of theater!
