Calling all musical theatre lovers! This summer, spend July sharing your love of theatre with the Issaquah community. In our one-of-a-kind Summer Performance Intensive, you’ll perfect a cabaret-style show and perform it multiple times throughout the month at a variety of venues. With the expert guidance of professional theatre artists, you’ll collaborate with peers, fine-tune your performing skills, and see firsthand the direct impact of the arts on our Issaquah community. Plus, you’ll get to perform on BOTH of Village Theatre’s professional stages in Issaquah!  This program was shaped and created by KIDSTAGE student leaders who wanted to have a performance opportunity that would give back to the Issaquah community and inspire future KIDSTAGE students.

We will be casting 20 to 28 students and will split the group into two cohorts. Students will be placed into the cohort group based on their audition, callback, and experience level. The cabaret will build material each week as we fine-tune and perfect new songs and dances.

The song selection will include golden age classics, Disney favorites, and contemporary Broadway hits. In addition, the repertoire may include selections from the upcoming KIDSTAGE and/or Mainstage seasons as well as our KIDSTAGE Originals program. More information and possible song selections will be provided at the auditions.

Village Theatre believes that experiential learning in theater arts is a powerful tool for building essential life and career skills including critical thinking, concentration, collaboration, discipline, communication and creativity. We strive to ensure that all young people, regardless of financial circumstances, are able to participate in our programs.
