What Actor Ben Dow Loves About Village Theatre

From Locations to Legends, Here’s What Ben Dow Loves About Village Theatre

You may have seen actor Ben Dow in Grease, Legally Blonde, or Jersey Boys here at Village Theatre. We asked Ben to share what he loves about Village, and why he thinks subscribing is the best way to enjoy theater.

Read on below or watch Ben’s video tour on Instagram!

1) There are great restaurants nearby.

As a season subscriber, you can go to a different (and delicious!) restaurant every single show. And I think that’s so cool.

Ben’s favorite spots for a bite:
ISSAQUAH: Las Margaritas, Fins Bistro
EVERETT: El Paradiso, Botan Ramen

2. Free street parking is SO rare — but not at Village!

If the theater doesn’t have a parking lot, parking can be expensive. Village is the first theater gig I’ve had where you can just park on the street and it’s free!

Even the farthest spot on Rainier Blvd North in Issaquah is still so close. And Everpark Garage in Everett is a block and a half from the theatre and incredibly affordable.

3. Both cities are super walkable.

If you park at the Everpark Garage in Everett, the walkway will take you to the street where all the restaurants are — I think that’s so charming. You’ll be able to talk past a bunch of little shops and locally owned restaurants, especially if you get there early.

4. It’s not hyperbole — there’s no bad seat in either space.

At Village, because of the way the performance spaces are set up, you get the grandeur of these beautiful sets, and the lighting design, AND you get to see everyone’s faces — which is super unique to a theater that seats 500 people.

5. Catch Seattle legends acting their faces off.

When you’re a season subscriber, you get to see amazing Seattle legends like Jessica Skerritt (below) in multiple roles across seasons! It gives you a different perspective of the range they can do as actors.

Jessica Skerritt in Hello, Dolly! (Angela Sterling, 2023), Camelot (Auston James, 2024), Brigadoon (Auston James, 2025)

6. The Village box office team is one-of-a-kind.

What makes them one-of-a-kind is the way they are able to accommodate needs, the way they help you on the phone, and the kindness they share when you go and ask questions.

7. There are so many things to do near the theatre!

A theatre can transform a downtown area… people come to see a show and, in turn, they also experience all the good local shops and restaurants these two cities have to offer.

Ben’s favorite things to do:
EVERETT: Funko Pop (feels like Disneyland!)
ISSAQUAH: Confluence Park, Salmon Hatchery

8. Each production is handled with care.

I’ve rarely come across a theatre that cares so deeply about the experience for the people who work there. Everyone wants every facet of the theatre to be an enjoyable experience and one that makes both audiences and artists want to return.

9. You can feel the love at Village.

When there’s a lot of passion and love poured into something and people are all connecting together, you can feel the difference. Every show I’ve had the privilege of doing at Village has felt like that.

10. Next season is going to be MAGIC.

With the talent Village Theatre brings in, and the artists they choose to lead their shows, next season is going to be magic. I just know it. I feel it.
