About Village Theatre’s KIDSTAGE

“This program has been a phenomenal opportunity to boost both [my student’s] social confidence among peers, and her self-acceptance of making mistakes in front of others.”
—KIDSTAGE Parent
All new students, even those with no experience in musical theater, are welcome to start by taking any KIDSTAGE class at their grade level. Our theater classes and camps are designed to engage and build skills for children of various experience levels, whether they are brand new to theater or have been taking classes with us for years. Unless specifically stated, our classes have no prerequisites.
If you are new to KIDSTAGE, it might be helpful to know:
- Our Acting Classes focus on building skills like creating characters, collaborating in acting scenes, improvisation, stage direction, projecting our voices, etc.
- Our Musical Theater classes focus on singing and basic dance for musical theater. In these classes, kids will typically sing and dance, as a group, in 2-4 musical numbers from popular shows.
- Additionally, we offer specific Singing and Dance classes for our students in 6th grade and up.
There is a demonstration on the last day of class, where family and friends are invited in to see what their students have been working on in their class.
