Do I love you because you’re beautiful? Or are you beautiful because I love you? Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella comes to life in a timeless new production full of theatrical invention, tuneful melodies, and romance galore. With favorite songs like “In My Own Little Corner” and “Do I Love You Because You’re Beautiful,” Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella was last seen on the Village Theatre stage in 1985.
Now, under the inspired direction of the acclaimed Desdemona Chiang, with a script drawn from the 1997 television adaptation, Chiang’s production of Cinderella brings the story into the present with scintillating new costumes, a top-tier cast of Seattle stars, and a spectacular 16-person orchestra you’ll have to hear to believe. With an assist from her fairy godmother, as Cinderella dreams of finding her own place in a perfect world, she steps into her glass slippers to meet the prince of her dreams —only to lose him as the clock strikes midnight.
Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella promises to be an unforgettable trip to the theatre, perfect for the whole family as memories are made together.
Actor, carpenter, and Fairy Godmother: Cassi Q Kohl contains multitudes! We caught the fabulous actor before her show call and asked her 26 fast questions about Cinderella, her pre-show ritual, and which fairy tale is her favorite.

BRIDGID ABRAMS, she/her (Ensemble/ Grace U/S) is thrilled to be making her Village Theatre debut in Cinderella! She holds a BFA from Cornish College of the Arts here in Seattle and attended Atlantic Acting School in New York. Credits include: Two Gentlemen of Verona (Seattle Shakespeare Company); For All That (Centerstage Theatre); A Christmas Carol, Dream Girls, Of Mice and Men (Milwaukee Repertory Theatre); Convention (Atlantic Theatre Company). Huge xo to her fiancé, Joshua, for his unfaltering love and support.
ANNE ALLGOOD, she/her (Stepmother) has appeared at Village Theatre in Little Women, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime, and several New Works Festivals. She has appeared on Broadway, in National Tours, and at regional theatres coast-to-coast, as well as at every major theatre in Seattle. Notable among her local credits are 15 productions at The 5th Avenue Theatre and many more at ACT Theatre, where she serves as a member of the CORE Company.
SADE ASET, she/her (Ensemble) is a choreographer, director, and free-time astrologer in Seattle. She graduated with a BFA in acting/directing with minors in dance and French at Pacific Lutheran University. She is grateful to be working with a collaborative, inspiring team for her second performance at Village Theatre. Recent credits at Village Theatre include Mamma Mia!, Songs for a New World, and Newsies. More of her work can be found at:

GABRIEL COREY, he/him (Ensemble/Dance Captain) is rightly chuffed to be back on the Village Theatre stage. Last seen in The 5th Avenue Theatre’s West Side Story (Action). Past Village Theatre Credits: Newsies (Assoc. Choreographer), Mary Poppins, Funny Girl, Chicago, Big River (Ensemble), and Singin’ in the Rain (Cosmo Brown), where he met his amazing wife Carly. Gabriel is grateful to share this same stage with her again.
BETH DEVRIES, she/her (Ensemble/Stepmother U/S) Favorite select Village Theatre shows: Les Misérables (Fantine), Hairspray (Velma), The King and I (Anna), The Secret Garden (Rose). Other local and regional credits: Next to Normal (Diana, Balagan Theatre) Behold the Dreamers (Cindy, Book-It Theatre), Goblin Market (Laura, ACT Theatre), Snapshots (Sue, Village Theatre, Theatreworks, Arizona Theatre Company), and many other shows with The 5th Avenue Theatre, Showtunes Theatre Company, Seattle Children’s Theatre, and ArtsWest. CANDICE DONEHOO, she/her (Queen Constantina/Fairy Godmother U/S) is thrilled to be performing in her first Mainstage show at Village Theatre! Village Theatre credits: The Passage (Beta Series and The Festival of New Musicals). Career Highlights: 1996 Tony Award-winning production of The King and I (1st National), Jekyll and Hyde (1st National), Miss Saigon (Ellen), and A Christmas Story (Original Cast Album). Other theatre credits: Seattle Repertory Theater, ACT Theatre, Theater Under the Stars, Indiana Repertory Theatre, Alliance Theatre, and the Ogunquit Playhouse.

AYS GARCIA, she/her (Cinderella) is so beyond excited to be here with all of you! She started her performing career at Village Theatre last year as the understudy for Woman 1 in Songs for a New World! You may have also seen her as Lisa in Mamma Mia! (Village Theatre). KEOLA KAPULANI HOLT, they/them (Ensemble) This is Keola’s first Village Theatre production! They are a dancer and performer in the Seattle area. Their credits include productions such as A Chorus Line, Spring Awakening, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Legally Blonde, and 42nd Street. They have also participated as a dancer in workshops for new projects in the area. They would like to thank their many directors, choreographers, and mentors for their support and encouragement!
KAWIKA HUSTON, he/him (Ensemble/Christopher U/S) A proud resident of Tacoma and Hilo, Hawaii native, Kawika is delighted to make his Village Theatre debut. CASSI KOHL, she/her (Fairy Godmother) Cassi is a carpenter by day who is thrilled to be back on stage! Village Theatre: String and She Loves Me. Favorite local credits include Legally Blonde (Showtunes Theatre), Fun Home (Harlequin), and performing a “Christopher Walken-inspired” Jacob Marley’s Ghost in Scrooge in Rouge (Triangle Productions, Portland). LISA KWAK, she/her/any pronouns (Swing) is based in Duwamish Land, Seattle, WA. A 2021 Village Theatre Northwest Creator Resident, Lisa’s musical theatre credits include Afterwords, a new musical at the 5th Avenue Theatre. She has worked with artists including Etienne Cakpo, Gary Champi, Rachael Lincoln, Wilson Mendieta, Noelle Price, David Rousseve, dani tirrell, Maleek Washington, Ebony Williams, Kevin Williamson, Alex Ung, and Dr. S Ama Wray, and performed works by Camille A. Brown and Shapiro & Smith.
MIA MOOKO, she/her (Joy) is thrilled to be making her Mainstage debut at Village Theatre. Since performing in Pippin (Catherine) at Village Theatre KIDSTAGE, Mia moved to NYC where she graduated from Pace University with a BFA in musical theatre. Recent credits include And So That Happened at The 5th Avenue Theatre and Spring Awakening (Marta) at Weathervane Repertory Theatre. Her love goes out to her family and friends for being the ultimate support system! 
MACKENZIE NEUSIOK, she/her (Ensemble/Joy U/S) A member of the Coharie Tribe, Mackenzie is honored to be back on stage at Village Theatre. She was last seen at Village Theatre in Guys and Dolls (2019), and as an ensemble swing in Matilda (2018). Mackenzie attended the University of Washington and earned a BA in musical theatre and American Indian studies. When not performing, she works throughout the Salish Sea region as a choreographer, dance instructor, and Pilates instructor.

BETH POLLACK, she/her (Cinderella U/S) is a Seattle-based performer, teaching artist, and arts administrator. Select Seattle credits: In the Time of the Butterflies, Mañanaland (Book-It Repertory Theatre); A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Hamlet, Macbeth, Romeo & Juliet (Seattle Shakespeare Company); all five iterations of Dacha Theatre’s Dice series. Beth holds a BA in theatre studies and the historicization of dramatic literature from NYU Gallatin and would be happy to explain what that means. For Mom. More at 
REBECCA MAITEN, she/her (Swing/Queen Constantina U/S) is thrilled to be in her first show at Village Theatre! Favorite roles include The Baker’s Wife in Into the Woods (Renton Civic Theatre), Jo in Little Women (Auburn Ave), and Mother in Ragtime (Lakewood Playhouse). JAMES SCHILLING, he/him (Christopher) is overjoyed to make his Mainstage Village Theatre debut! James is an actor, playwright, and educator with a BFA in theatre from Cornish College of the Arts. Previous: Black Coffee and See How They Run (Taproot Theatre); The Watsons Go To Birmingham – 1963 (Seattle Children’s Theatre); Feathers and Teeth (Washington Ensemble Theatre); and Peter and the Starcatcher (ArtsWest). Love and gratitude to Lola and his family, especially his late mother Debra.
CHRISTOPHER SWEET, he/they (Swing) is thrilled to be working with the Village Theatre again to help tell a classic tale with a new perspective. You last saw him in Guys & Dolls on Mainstage and may have recently seen Winghaven Park, a new musical on Vashon Island with Drama Dock. Other credits include working with Cafe Nordo, Harlequin Theatre, Tacoma Little Theatre, and more Puget Sound theatres. He thanks his friends and family for their continued support.

JASON WEITKAMP, he/him (Lionel) is ecstatic to return to Village Theatre after performing as Snoopy in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown and prior to that, Cogsworth in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast at The 5th Avenue Theatre. He’s performed across the nation in I Love a Piano, around the world on Holland America/Disney Cruise Lines, and at Disney World in Finding Nemo the Musical. Many thanks to everyone that has made him feel welcome in this community.
