Have tickets to canceled performances of She Loves Me, Hansel & Gretl & Heidi & Günter, or The Wedding Singer? View your options »

Dear Village Theatre family,
Thank you for your support and patience during these unprecedented times. We are writing today with an update on the latest developments at Village Theatre. Although we—like so many others—remain in a state of uncertainty, we are carefully monitoring the situation and want to share what we do know with you, our loyal audience members and supporters.

As you may have guessed, the remainder of Village Theatre’s 2019–2020 season is canceled. This includes all performances of Hansel & Gretl & Heidi & Günter and The Wedding Singer in both Issaquah and Everett, as well as the final two weeks of She Loves Me in Everett. In March when performances were first suspended, we had hoped to reopen some of these shows over the summer; unfortunately that is no longer possible.

You are likely aware that Village Theatre is a charitable non-profit organization, and you can imagine the devastating impact of these cancellations. One way you can help is to donate back the value of your tickets. You’ll receive a receipt for your tax-deductible donation, which is also eligible for gift matching by many employers. Would you please consider making this investment in our future? Choosing to donate your ticket value helps sustain Village Theatre through this difficult time and provides the financial springboard we will need to get artists back to work and bring you the locally produced Broadway-caliber performances you love. To those who have already donated back your tickets for The Wedding Singer, thank you—we are so grateful.

The following options are available for canceled performances:

  • Donate the value of your tickets back to Village Theatre. You will receive a tax-deductible donation receipt. Even if you don’t itemize, the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) allows you to deduct up to $300 in charitable contributions.
  • >Receive a credit on your account. It may be used toward the future purchase of any Village Theatre event that takes place through August 31, 2021, including mainstage tickets, KIDSTAGE classes or camps, and Village Originals memberships.
  • Contact our box office to discuss options. We recognize that every situation is different, and we are committed to finding a solution that works for you.

To expedite your request and avoid phone wait times, please complete this online form by July 31 to indicate your preferred option. You may also call the box office at 425-392-2202 (Issaquah) or 425-257-8600 (Everett) from 11 AM–5 PM Tuesday–Saturday or email boxoffice@villagetheatre.org. If we do not hear from you by July 31, 2020, the value of your tickets will be converted into a donation.

CHOOSE YOUR PREFERRED OPTION

In addition, the following decisions have been made regarding other Village Theatre programming originally scheduled to take place this spring:

Many of you have inquired about the upcoming 2020–2021 season, scheduled to begin in September. Due to uncertainty around safe reopening of large gatherings, we are working on several contingency plans, including options to start the season in November 2020 or January 2021 with shorter turnarounds between productions. We will of course bring you as much locally produced Broadway-quality theatre as we can, as soon as we safely can, and we will let you know as soon as we have new information.

Thank you so much for your support of Village Theatre. We can’t wait to see you again soon to share in the joy of live musical theatre.

Sincerely,
Robb Hunt, Executive Producer and Jerry Dixon, Artistic Director
