Gilbert and Sullivan’s classic is re-invented in a steam punk alternate reality and is as wacky, irreverent, and entertaining today as it was when it first opened in 1879. The gears are in motion in this hilarious farce of sentimental airship pirates, bumbling robotic policemen, dim-witted young lovers, dewy-eyed yet feisty daughters, and an eccentric Major-General, all morally bound to the often-ridiculous dictates of honor and duty. It’s the classic love vs. duty conflict, universal in whichever reality you reside.
