Francis J. Gaudette Theatre
It was in the 1988-1989 Season that the Board of Directors started conceptualizing a new facility for Village Theatre. At that time, the Theatre had made First Stage Theatre, the small theatre space down the road, its home since 1979. It was becoming clear that the stage and dressings rooms at First Stage were simply too small to accommodate the productions for which Village Theatre was becoming known. Over the next few years, potential sites and partnerships were discussed and discarded; in June of 1992 documents were signed with Cascade Bank for the land at 303 Front Street in historic downtown Issaquah.
In November of 1994, the Francis J. Gaudette Theatre opened its doors, with over 450 seats, family rooms, restrooms aplenty, and a spacious lobby with adjacent Cafe. Production-wise, the new theatre space boasts rehearsal rooms, shops, a fully-equipped fly system, large control booth, capacious dressing rooms, green room, offices, and state-of-the-art lighting and sound capabilities. We are very proud to say Village Theatre owns both of these buildings and since 2007, its Technical Studio space as well. Our original home at 120 Front Street North is still home to KIDSTAGE productions and the Village Originals program.
