The mission of Village Theatre is to be a regionally recognized and nationally influential center of excellence in family theatre:

Village Theatre, founded in 1979, is a leading producer of Musical Theatre in the Pacific Northwest.
Village Theatre provides the area with quality theatre for all ages. We choose many shows geared toward the entire family and produce musicals and non-musicals that are accessible, entertaining, and educational.

- Founded in 1979, Village Theatre is a leading producer of musical theatre in the Pacific Northwest with four main programming components: Mainstage, Village Originals, and our Youth Education Program which includes both KIDSTAGE and Pied Piper.
- Village Theatre is a 501c3 non-profit professional producing musical theatre company.
- Village Theatre has grown into one of the region's largest professional theatres, with over 18,000 subscribers to the 2007-2008 mainstage season, 182,600 patron visits, mainstage performances in Issaquah and Everett, youth education programs serving over 53,000 young people annually, and a nationally-recognized program, Village Originals, which has developed of over 75 new musicals to date.
- Combined, Village Theatre programs perform on a total of seven stages throughout the Puget Sound area.
- Village Theatre is one of the top three professional theatre companies in the Puget Sound area.
- Village Theatre currently employs a seasonal and full time professional staff of 54, and during the 2004-2005 Season hired more than 380 union/equity actors, directors, designers, technicians, and other theatre professionals.

- Village Theatre owns two theatres in Issaquah: the beloved 1914 First Stage Theatre and the Francis J. Gaudette Theatre built in 1994.
- Village Theatre was contracted by the City of Everett in 1998 to be the resident performing and management company at the Everett Performing Arts Center.
- Village Theatre's 2007-2008 operating budget is $7.6 million. Eighty percent (80%) of the budget comes from earned income or ticket sales, tuition fees for KIDSTAGE classes, leases, and dividends. Twenty percent (20%) of the annual operating budget comes from contributed income.
- In June 2005, Village Theatre was awarded the Eastside Destination Award by the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce attesting to the theatre's vibrancy, artistic excellence, service to the community, and economic impact to East King County.

Mainstage
- Performs in two locations: The Francis J. Gaudette Theatre in Issaquah and The Everett Performing Arts Center in Everett.
- Five show Sesson running from September through July including four musicals (including one original musical each season) and one play.
- 2007-2008 Season: Million Dollar Quartet, The King and I, Barefoot in the Park, Little Women, and AIDA
- Over 18,000 Mainstage Subscribers to the 2007-2008 Season.
Village Originals
- Village Theatre supports an extensive year-round program, Village Originals, dedicated to every aspect of new musical development: workshops, readings, seminars and full productions.
- To date Village Theatre's Village Originals program has developed over 75 new musicals, some of which have gone on to stages that include Ford's Theatre-Washington, DC; Pittsburg Public; York Theatre-Off Broadway New York; Goodspeed Opera House-Connecticut; Chichester Festival-London; Koshiung Cultural Center-Taiwan; Hsinchu Cultural Center-Taiwan; National Theatre-Taipei; Los Angeles; The Cutting Room-New York; Singapore; San Jose Repertory Theatre; and Marriott Lincolnshire-Chicago. - Village Theatre is highly respected on a national level for its significant contribution to the world of musical theatre. Only a handful of theatre companies throughout the country commission and develop new musicals.
Youth Education
- Village Theatre serves 53,000 young people each year through our extensive Youth Education Program that includes KIDSTAGE and Pied Piper.
- KIDSTAGE offers theatre classes and performance opportunities throughout the year for youth 3½ to 20 years old.
- KIDSTAGE classes and performances are offered four times a year. The sessions are Summer, Fall, Winter, and Spring. Summer consists of camps that are a week long and the Fall, Winter, and Spring sessions are after school once a week for eight to ten weeks, between one to two hours in length.
- KIDSTAGE performances are offered four times a year. Grades 4-8 during the Fall session, Grades 8-12 during the Winter session, and two Summer productions for ages 10-20.
- Pied Piper is dedicated to enriching the cultural lives of young people and supporting the classroom objectives of their educators by bringing first-class educational performances to students, teachers, and families in the Puget Sound area.
- Pied Piper public performances are held at the Everett Performing Arts Center and the Everett Civic Center.
- Pied Piper school performances are held at the Everett Performing Arts Center, Everett Civic Center, The Theatre at the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue, and The McIntyre Hall Performing Arts and Conference Center in Mount Vernon.
